HCL Sametime 11.6 and MongoDB 4.4 - how to enable mongo security correctly

By Matteo Bisi | 6/14/21 1:53 AM | Infrastructure - Sametime | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

HCL Sametime 11.6 is supporting MongoDB 4.4 and this is the suggested version in case of new install. One of the suggested steps during a Community setup is enable the Mongo security as described here , but the steps there are not enough, because 4.4 version in case of replica set , require also the creation and the use of a shared key to every Mongo server involved in the replica set, even if the replica set is composed by 1 node.

REST API Gateways

By Paul Withers | 6/14/21 1:07 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Andi Kress

Three years ago I presented at IBM Think I presented a session called Domino and JavaScript Development Masterclass with John Jardin. In that session I talked about the various REST options for Domino and used the term “API gateway”. Particularly at this time it makes sense to expand more on what was in the slides.

IBM Domino: Script to Enable Full Text Indexes on all mail files

By Enio Basso | 6/10/21 7:19 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Currently the only way to enable full text on All mail files is using Domino Administrator. There is no command line option. I create a LotusScript Agent to enable this. See code below Agent must be set as "Agent List" and "All selected documents".

How to install correctly Sametime Community over Domino 11.0.1 FP3 on linux

By Matteo Bisi | 6/9/21 9:44 AM | Infrastructure - Sametime | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

During last weeks I'm working mostly on HCL Sametime preparing some meetings environments. After the release of the 11.6 we have noted the server wasn't able to start if installed after FP3 of Domino 11.0.1. The issue is similar to the Traveler issue , but we have fixed it in this way:

Domino V12 and Verse 2.1 How to add a Photo URL

Today i setup a Domino V12 server just for test some new features. A customer ask to use photos on Verse hosting photos on Domino. Domino V12 comes with Verse 2.0. I just download the version 2.1 of Verse and follow the installation instructions.

Load JDBC SQL driver at runtime in DOTS and amgr

By Ulrich Krause | 6/7/21 1:14 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Andi Kress

Recently there was a discussion in the German Notes forum about an error when loading a JDBC driver. https://atnotes.de/index.php/topic,63166.0.html To be clear, the problem has so far only occurred with the driver for MySQL. The driver used is the same as the one used for HCL Traveler when Traveler uses a MySQL database as backend datastore in HA mode.

101 NEW features of Domino 12 - Domino People

By Cormac McCarthy | 6/4/21 2:06 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

I was thinking about the actual features included and the list is so long I started to write them down. I did write a blog for HCL a few weeks back on the Four Security Security features you’ve been waiting for and writing down an actual list this week I came up with 101 features of Domino 12. (believe it or not there’s actually more than that but I had to draw the line somewhere!).

#Newin12 Domino ID Vault

By Gabriella Davis | 6/1/21 2:24 PM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

As I posted last week, Domino 12 and Sametime 11.6 and Traveler 12 and Nomad Web 1.0 are all out and there’s lots of good news for admins, users and developers alike but since I’m an admin that’s what I’m going to talk about. Instead of a large dull blog listing all the things I think are most interesting useful, I’m going to do a series of short slightly-less-dull blogs focusing in on each one individually.

Automatic "one time" deletion of Cache.ndk at start

By Jesper Kiær | 6/1/21 2:22 PM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

I have had users with different (weird) issues since V11 and all that would fix it was a deletion of the cache file Cache.ndk. Cache.ndk is great for performance and you do want to keep it around, however sometimes you just need to delete it to fix issues and let it rebuild again at a Notes restart

#NewIn12 It’s Grouptastic

By Gabriella Davis | 6/1/21 3:03 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Starting with the simplest – the ability to see what groups a person is in by selecting “Find Groups” from their person document. Yes we have had some of this before in the form of the “Manage Groups” dialog in the People and Groups view but this is more detailed, and most importantly printed on screen.

#NewIn12 – What Configuration Is My Server Using?

By Gabriella Davis | 6/1/21 3:03 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Such a simple thing that will again save me a lot of time. Open your server document and you now have an option to find and view any configuration document that server is assigned to. Click “Find Server Config”

Domino V12 CertMgr corporate CA deployment automation

By Daniel Nashed | 6/1/21 3:02 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Now that Domino V12 is released, we can look into more deployment scenarios. I have looked into many different scenarios over the couple of month during beta and played with many integrations and described them in earlier posts. Let me describe the main use-cases and I see today. And I am very interested to hear what you would like to integrate with.

How to upgrade HCL Sametime Community and Proxy server 11.5 to 11.6

By Ales Lichtenberg | 6/1/21 3:01 AM | Infrastructure - Sametime | Added by Oliver Busse

HCL Sametime server 11.6 was released. Official announcements will come soon. Register for this official launch event on June 7 Although the upgrade from version 11.5 is the same as previous release, I created a simple Step by Step tutorial.

XPages Renderers and Thread Safety

By Jesse Gallagher | 5/27/21 11:43 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Andi Kress

I got to thinking yesterday about renderers in XPages - the part of the stack that takes the abstract back-end representation and actually turns it into HTML. They've been an interest of mine for a good while and they have interesting characteristics worth revisiting from time to time.

How to: Domino 12 OneTouch Setup

By Oliver Busse | 5/21/21 1:21 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

While preparing an upcoming webcast hosted by We4IT I am tinkering again with Domino 12 beta. One very cool feature of version 12 is the "OneTouch" setup procedure which allows you to install the server with an already prepared configuration for almost everything relevant. For the preparation my goal only was to show how to install an additional server to an existing Domino domain (DNN), using an existing admin user as an administrator and a prepared server.id. I am using Docker to build this new server as this is the fastest method to check it out.

Complete Domino V12 server setup leveraging On Touch

By Daniel Nashed | 5/21/21 1:19 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

As you might now we are working on our Domino on Docker community project for quite some time. The concept behind some of the features available in our GitHub project made it into Domino V12. HCL combined the simple setup functionality we had based on the Java Domino configuration with the config.json file which used Notes Java code to configure the server. The Domino Docker Community project was adopting this functionality from the first code drops on. And for Domino V12 you can use our image for complete auto configuration.

OpenNTF May 2021 Webinar Followup

By Jesse Gallagher | 5/20/21 7:36 PM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Earlier today, I took part in OpenNTF's May webinar on recent project updates. During that, I gave a quick overview of several of the projects I've worked on in the past year, and I figured it'd be useful to put together some followup notes for future reference.

Tweak HCL Connections Newsletter v2

By Christoph Stoettner | 5/20/21 2:44 AM | Infrastructure - Connections | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

The newsletter in version 2 format has one big disadvantage, we or our users lost the easy links to the topic, user or application. When we look at the same information in Newsletter version 2, we can’t open the profile or the main blog/application, just the post is linked on the "Open" link.

Leveraging Domino Event Monitoring for Domino V12 CertMgr Health Checks

By Daniel Nashed | 5/20/21 2:43 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Events and event monitoring have been in the product I think since version 4.5. Domino 7 introduced Domino Domain Monitoring (DDM) which leverages the existing infrastructure and is extending it. The foundation of event monitoring is a core component of Domino and it leverages another important core component "Domino statistics".

HCL Verse: read and write encrypted mail without your userid

By Remco Angioni | 5/19/21 1:41 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

When you want to read and/or write encrypted mail, you normally need to have uploaded your notes.id into your HCL Notes mail database. Now, when the technique evolves, it’s no longer necessary to upload it manually. It’s even harder when you work natively from the IDVault, because your ID is loaded into memory.

HCL Sametime Meetings – Meeting Chat Issue

By Milan Matejic | 5/17/21 5:20 AM | Infrastructure - Sametime | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Recently I ran into the issue with HCL Sametime, the Chat was not working inside the Sametime Meetings. In this environment, the Sametime Meetings components are deployed on a single Docker host server. After a little bit of Troubleshooting and Log Analysis, I found the following error in the Sametime Proxy catalina logs: WARNING [https-jsse-nio-443-exec-8] com.ibm.rtc.stproxy.servlet.STProxyServlet.forward CLFRX0050E: User null – /stwebapi/chat/nway – <meeting_server_ip_address> is not authenticated.

Tinkering With Cross-Container Domino Addins

By Jesse Gallagher | 5/17/21 2:01 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

A good chunk of my work lately involves running distinct processes with a Domino runtime, either run from Domino or standalone for development or CI use. Something that had been percolating in the back of my mind was another step in this: running these "addin-ish" programs in Docker in a separate container from Domino, but participating in that active Domino runtime.
