I recently had the honor of playing the role of game show host of a Notes/Domino edition of Jeopardy! at CollabSphere User Group Conference. This was the Day 2 Lunchtime entertainment. The contestants were Helen Mendoza, an HCL customer from Chicago, IL, USA; Roberto Boccadoro, an HCL business partner from Milan, Italy; and Luis Guirigay, an HCL employee from Boca Raton, FL, USA. New HCL Notes, Domino, & Connections content is back on Domino!

I’m thrilled to share that HCL has brought over important content from IBM that was hosted in Domino! Note these are .nsf databases. Yes, Domino databases. I have asked if they will open it up to anonymous access with Notes clients like they had been in the past. Meanwhile, this is another accomplishment in the process of HCL invigorating the proof of the product.

At IBM Connect 2017, the message from IBM was “Notes/Domino 9.0 support will not end for at least 4 more years”. Which to me sounded a bit like simply a stay of execution. Not so much a positive message as just a non-negative one. But Ed Brill has published a blog post on the IBM Social Business blog that gives more clarity to the message and I think this helps.

Last week IBM provided a glimpse into their next innovation in email.  Code-named MailNext, it is now formally named Verse.  This is the next evolution of Connections Cloud, their enterprise cloud suite of software. Now, just a week later, IBM has announced plans to make Verse available to CONSUMERS for FREE!!!
