When IBM migrated Domino Designer to run on Eclipse (DDE), we automatically gained a lot of very nice functionality for Java programming from the Eclipse IDE. One of the pieces that was never fully realized, though, was hover help. If you hover over a Domino class or method you’ll get a message saying “the Javadoc could not be found”. But wait, you can fix that!

So you took my advice and you’re trying out Twitter Bootstrap with XPages (Getting Started Part 1 and Part 2). You’ve downloaded the files, added them to your app, and used some scaffolding to layout your page. Now what? There are lots of elements on the Bootstrap site, particularly the Base CSS page. The CSS components are relatively easy to add to your application, so I won’t demonstrate those here (most of them can be utilized by adding specific classes to your design elements). Slightly more tricky are some of the JavaScript elements of Bootstrap. While not difficult to use, some of them require a little bit of finagling to use with XPages. One example of that is typeahead. First let me show you a straightforward element like tooltip, then I’ll show you why typeahead is slightly more complex.
