Engage: A New Direction?

By Red Pill Now | 4/4/16 9:57 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

In 2010 I attended my first Lotusphere – Lotus Knows How, Lotus Knows Why. That event still holds a special spot in my memory because it was the last time Lotus Notes (and Application Development) would have any true presence as part of the IBM messaging at Lotusphere aka Connect aka ConnecEd aka Connect.

I am calling all OSGI plugin experts to assist the XPages community with tutorials and guides on how to create and work with OSGI Plugins. There is currently a huge demand to either start creating plugins, or assist with Open Source projects in the form of OSGI plugins.

We were in Eindhoven last week at the Engage conference.. over 400 attendees, speakers and IBM’ers gathered for two days of learning, talking and cleaning out the hotel bar of tonic water.. I’ve been to several of the past Engage conferences and Theo always puts on a great event but this was bigger and better than ever. So why?

Last week at the Engage user group in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, I gave a session on OAuth 2.0, how the protocol works and how easy it is the code against. The demo I showed at the end of the session showed just how easy it is and how little code is required to make a fully functioning OAuth 2.0 Client.

Family reunion 2016 (also known as Engage)

By Martin Jinoch | 3/29/16 3:46 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

This is starting to be a little old, but after every BLUG/Engage every blogger from the community simply has to - contract is very strict about this :) - write that Theo and Hilde did it again, that Engage was bigger than last year, venue was impressive and event most successful. It's very easy to do so, as it is 100 % true.

Reflections on Engage

Last week I had the pleasure to attend Engage, the yearly event for the BeNeLux user-group around IBM’s collaboration portfolio. Indeed it was a pleasure, due to the efforts of Theo Heselmans and his team, the sponsors, the location and of course the participants. Much appreciated! No user-groups without users!

The past three weeks were very busy. Today I finally find the time to put down some words about it. I had the pleasure of attending three interesting events that took place in three countries. For me this started the conference season this year - and there are more to come soon!
